Initial idea for opening sequence
Horror
The idea that I had for the opening
sequence was to follow the 1970’s decade of The nightmare decade that the story
follows a more twisted idea causing nightmares and psychological feelings
toward the nightmare.
The sequence will be based around a family
that are just moving into a new house, a mum, dad and 2 little girls. The
father in the film is a director fir weird supernatural happenings and moves
the family into the town as the local castle is supposed to be haunted. The
horror also acts partly as a documentary but when Dad is left alone in the
castle for secret filming not everything goes as planned. With dad being
possessed by a child catching demon, all hell breaks loose for the family.
For this sequence at the beginning we would
need 4 actors, and with four of us in the group one can be an actor but also
film as well just jumping in, in different shots. The idea of a family in the
clip could possibly relate to family mishaps, say they have moved into a dodgy
are themselves at some point. It would also follow alongside Todorov’s theory,
starting with an equilibrium as they move into the are, the dis-equilibrium
where everything goes wrong and the demon appears and the restored equilibrium
where the family move back out.
WWW: The fact that you’ve
used a lot of detail in planning it, and the fact that you’ve thought about
your other group members and the roles they take on
EBI: You elaborated on
why you’ve chosen Todorov’s theory J
You have some really
strong ideas Lauryn; it’s very detailed so you’ve obviously thought about it a
lot. I like the fact that you’ve also included the theory you’re going to use;
it shows you are very prepared for doing this task. Nice storyline too, all the
characters sound like they’re going to fit in with it, which is good so well
done!!
