preparation for filming

The 180 degree rule is where the camera stays on the same side showing both people in the conversation on opposite sides i.e the woman is always on the left and the man is always on the right. the only time this changes is when the camera jumps over the line but it would still have to show each character on the same side. A shot reverse shot is just like an over the shoulder shot it enables you to see exactly who is talking adhering to the 180 degree rule as they still stay on the same side. The film before sunrise follows the 180 degree rule and the shot reverse shot perfectly ,we are able to see both the man and the woman have a conversation with the man on the left and the woman on the right. The camera doesn't jump over the line and both characters stay on the same side continuous throughout.
